" TITLE: Fixed Asset Technician REPORTS TO: Purchasing Administrator FLSA: Non-exempt GRADE: O WORK CALENDAR: 253 FTE: 1.0 REVISED DATE: 10/22/2014 SUMMARY: Maintains inventory control and all fixed asset procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Enter and monitor all assets on District Finance Accounting System in Fixed Assets module Review account coding on requisitions pertaining to fixed asset acquisitions Set useful life, depreciate all assets and provide reconciliation documents and depreciation schedules Coordinates GASB 34 compliance issues and ensures that all audit requirements are met. Utilizes software applications to optimize accounting, reconciling, reporting, and communication functions Perform timely physical inventories and schedules regular internal audit reviews Coordinate tagging of capital and stewardship assets Coordinate District surplus procedures Develop, implement, and analyze District property control procedures; maintain the inventory control process that will ensure compliance with District policies and procedures, procurement code, USFR, and any state or federal laws or regulations while concurrently providing fiscal accountability. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Other job related duties as assigned. Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card (FPCC) Computer Skills: Demonstrated competency in computer literacy and Excel Abilities: Read and interpret general documents such as employee handbooks and safety/training manuals Write general correspondence and speak effectively with others Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Interpret assortment of instructions furnished in variable forms Apply reason to research and solve moderately complex issues with little or no assistance PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee will occasionally work in a loud area.
