The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll in compliance with government regulations. This role involves implementing efficient payroll processes and ensuring compliance with all payroll-related regulations. The Payroll Manager will also play a key role in strategic planning, communication and process improvement initiatives.Responsibilities and Duties: Implements, maintains and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, etc. 1000+ employees. Process multi-company, multi-state, and full-cycle payrolls, including time record review, system entry, reporting, and transmission to third parties Serve as the primary point of contact for employees with payroll inquiries, upholding a high level of service Conduct both formal and informal internal information sessions on payroll-related matters, such as timekeeping procedures, scheduling, and retirement eligibility. Facilitate various financial, insurance, and regulatory audits; maintain organized payroll records in a paperless environment. Prepare and present reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages to senior management. Ensure compliance with all payroll-related guidance and regulations; serve as a payroll system expert and advisor to the organization. Develop and establish processes for cross-checking and reviewing accuracy on a monthly or quarterly basis. Design, document, and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes. Recommend and lead updates to the payroll system. Reconcile payroll, tax, and benefit data between payroll system, accounting system, and government and/or benefit provider records. Manage file transmissions, funding, and reconciliations with third-party payroll-related vendors. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
