Together, we can create a brighter future for those who need it most!Job Objective:This position will be responsible for independently designing, planning, implementing, and managing special event projects, while maintaining daily operations for the Territorial Youth department. These responsibilities include the daily upkeep and data entry of Department databases and provide direct assistance to the TYS and ATYS on special projects and provide department clerical and production support. The ideal candidate will have thorough understanding of youth culture, experience in youth event production, and innovative ideas utilizing forms of media for communicating with leaders and young people. Essential Functions: Create concepts, sample layouts, social media for promotion of publication of materials, curriculum, for youth leadership development, discipleship, community outreach, Salvation Army Outdoor Education, SA Gaming, and other youth ministry resources available to the Central Territory. Use marketing strategies to help promote and distribute literature and other materials related to youth development and various youth initiatives. Assist Youth Communication specialist in producing, directing, and editing creative videos for use of Central Youth Network and other social media channels. Produce video recordings of all youth department trainings, podcasts, webcasting, and web blogging, including DYLC, CBLI, Regeneration, ReFuel, and other Youth initiatives. Responsible for content creation for monthly Central Youth Network newsletters to support overall youth emphasis, initiatives, and programmatic strategies. Design and production of youth department promotional materials. Coordinate resources for organization, storage, and effective retrieval processes for media assets such as photos, music, videos, and other media content. Assist Youth Communication specialists in reviewing and collaborating with program departments to assure maintenance of web-based content - visual assets, links, and copy are up to date with current events. Collect, analyze, and provide key communication platforms to help guide future strategic decisions in connecting to youth and leaders. Communicate/Confer with Divisional youth departments, or non-Army youth ministry specialists as directed by Territorial Youth Secretary to acquire and disseminate information which will directly affect the youth ministries within a local, regional, territorial, or national scope. Distribute correspondence and prepare communications for staff and the Territorial Cabinet from the Youth Department. Coordinate travel and program itineraries from Youth Department events.Manage inventory and payments for special events and training sessions.Process financial records and maintain databases for registrations and housing.Collaborate on projects with staff.Design and implement office procedures.Oversee volunteer management for events.Work with IT to develop reporting applications and compiling divisional reports on youth activities.Other ResponsibilitiesCentral Bible and Leadership Institute - Plan, coordinate, attend and supervise track databases for youth attending the event, as assigned by the Territorial Youth Secretary. Coordinate and supervise youth office. Supply program assistance to track leaders. Territorial Refuel Seminar - Plan, coordinate, attend and supervise department office. Present seminars, teach classes and participate as assigned by the Territorial Youth Secretary.Regeneration - Plan, coordinate, attend and supervise department office. Present seminars, teach classes and participate as assigned by the Territorial Youth Secretary.Divisional Youth Leaders Seminar - Present training, prepare and distribute appropriate reports, analysis, forms and resources for the DYL. Divisional Youth Councils, Rallies, Camps and Corps Visits - Participate as assigned or invited, as a representative of the THQ Youth Department. Involvement will include participation in the leadership team, class instruction, support and encouragement of leaders and direct ministry to youth.Other Territorial Events - Participate as assigned.Summer Camp Visits - Provide leadership and support to Divisional Youth Leaders and their summer camps upon request.Territorial Youth Department - Work with other department staff members as needed. Assist the department head by performing special projects as requested. Perform other related work as required.Education and Experience:Two years of college and experience in a related field. (Business, Non-profit)Experience in organizing and management of department with more than two employees with at least on year working in The Salvation Army preferred. Consultation is required in various settings throughout the territory, including corps, community centers, divisional headquarters offices, residential camps and conference centers.
