As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising employees in the daily routine of producing quality corrugated products in a safe, productive manner with minimum waste as well as cross-training employees in key positions.At The Royal Group, we are committed to our employees. Assist in determining quality guidelinesEstablish high morale within department by showing fairness, consistency and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.Maintain inventories of sheets, inks and other converting suppliesCoordinate with Superintendent /Operations Manager and Maintenance on any repairs or preventative maintenance done in departmentEnforce corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with violating employeesCommunicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changesConduct meetings with crews as neededImplement, maintain and support all company policies and procedures, including safety programs and good housekeepingDaily attendance of all employees (full time and temps)Make sure all crew members are at their job post at the start of their shift and that they report back from breaks and lunch on timeKeep management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your departmentResponsible for training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsAbility to work overtime as the job requiresAdhere to production schedule; make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goalsAdditional duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent with related college education or heavy college courseworkPreferred that employees have prior work experience in corrugated industry or other 2-4 years' work experience.Computer competence and knowledge of equipment design and capabilitiesREQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracyAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
