Occupational Summary Perform a variety of highly technical, electric, electronic, computer, and mechanical tasks related to the installation, modification, operation, support and maintenance of sophisticated parking access and revenue systems. Work Performed * Ensure all systems are correctly configured and fully functional, including development and maintenance of necessary interfaces. Apply a high degree of mechanical aptitude and skill to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair these systems. * Exercise strong understanding of networks and connectivity to ensure maximum systems availability and thus ensuring strong revenue flow. * Coordinate the work performed by service contractors, vendors, and other University maintenance staff to include maintenance, calibration, and installation/removal of systems. * Provide regular and detailed reporting to management, to include services performed, outages and resolution of same, and recommendations for repairs and replacements. Trending of mean-time-between- failures (MTBF) of equipment and systems should be included in these reports. * Perform other maintenance tasks, to include but not limited to, grounds-keeping, maintenance of parking facilities and lots, revenue collection and other duties appointed by department manager. Required Qualifications at this Level Education/Training: Requires a background in electronics normally acquired through a a field of study such as electronics or computer technology, or equivalent work/on-the-job training experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Minimum five years in a technical installation or maintenance environment, preferably in a hands-on, autonomous setting. Preference given to candidates with Digital Iris and T2 expertise. Combination of an advanced technical college degree and prefer minimum of two years-experience Skills: Attention to detail in performing complex electronic and mechanical tasks. Understanding of wiring and systems diagrams. Good time management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects based on University needs.
