Job Duties: * The Transportation Scheduler has the role within the Placement Services -Transportation unit of scheduling Transportation for all foster care youth, both therapeutic and non-therapeutic for their assigned region. Works collaboratively with other divisions within DSS related to Transportation (Office of Child Health and Well-Being, County Operations, Finance). Maintains professional interaction with providers, vendors and families. * Monitors the Regional Transportation Inbox for requests regarding a scheduling need for therapeutic and non-therapeutic transportation. Contacts transportation providers in a timely manner to secure transport. Provides details of secured transportation via email to referring county and contract staff. Communicates as appropriate with transportation provider, contract staff and county office following notification of secured transport if there are any changes or updates to the details of the transport need. Maintains tracking system of all scheduled transports and scheduling attempts. * Will work closely with the Contract Assistant to research invoices for accuracy when there is a concern or discrepancy. * Maintains an accurate and detailed tracking system of all scheduled transports and scheduling attempts. Monitors how many transports each child is allowed per month. * Will serve as back up to the other Regional Transportation Schedulers as needed. * Assists with other administrative duties within the Placement Services Division as requested. * Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty and services as directed. * Performs other related duties as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements Agency Requirements A High School Diploma and three (3) years of clerical experience, or an Associate degree and one (1) year of clerical experience. A Bachelor's Degree may be substituted for all or part of the work requirements. Preferred Qualifications Selected positions may require the ability to type at a corrected rate of 35 words a minute.
