POSITION SUMMARY The Staff Accountant role is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of the company's reports and statements. The Staff Accountant will oversee accounts payable, sales auditing and administrative tasks for the Private Membership Club (*Restaurant). ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Act as main point of contact to the corporate office for all Accounts Payable tasks for the restaurant. Receive, process, verify all invoices for the restaurant. Communicate with operators to ensure all invoices are received weekly. Upload scanned invoices to company dashboard. Manage payments to vendors, cutting checks weekly and mailing checks. Communicate regularly with Vendors on behalf of the restaurant and corporate office. Set-up new vendor accounts, request W9 forms. Maintain accounting records by verifying and posting account transactions. Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements. Maintain filing system by filing printed invoices. Conduct sales audits by reviewing and confirming Daily Sales Report (DSR) data for restaurant. Review, investigate and correct any exceptions or errors. Ensure all Daily Sales Reports balance. Post each Daily Sales Reports sales journal entry on a timely basis. Review PandL line-item expenses for completeness every month-end. Accrue for any missing expenses identified every month-end. Work closely with Assistant Controller to complete month end close. Manage Paycor payroll system; onboard and offboard employees, update pay information. Process weekly payroll for Restaurant. Partner with General Managers to assist with operational administrative needs. Cross train within other areas of accounting function as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience Must have general accounting knowledge Must have accounting experience within Hospitality Industry Proficient with Microsoft Office and Accounting Software Experience with Compeat preferred Excellent Communication Skills, written and verbal Should be a team player who is reliable and displays integrity Must be a self-starter, quick-thinker and excellent time management skills. Can take initiative and be adaptable to a sometimes-demanding environment Highly organized Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success Ability to work flexible hours; must be able to maintain a schedule availability flexible to the business demands. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times. Can sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. Climbing steps regularly COMPENSATION The base pay range for this position is between $67,600-70,000 per annum.
