Proof No. 5 is looking for a chef de cuisine to run our kitchen in Wheaton, IL Job Summary: The role of the chef de cuisine is to provide the best possible quality food for our guests as set by the executive chef. The chef de cuisine is responsible for making sure daily systems and tasks are being accomplished. This position reports directly to the culinary director and executive chef. Duties: - Ensure quality of food with standards set by the Culinry Director and Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef - Purchasing food - Delegation of kitchen tasks - Scheduling of kitchen employees - Maintain sanitation standards set by the executive chef and the health dept. - Create daily prep and cleaning lists - Maintain proper inventory of food and kitchen supplies - Track and reduce food waste - Meet with executive chef and executive sous chef to discuss issues or ideas for improving food and guest experience - Answer guest and employee questions about menu and food preparations - Work approximately 55 hours per week Qualifications: - Must be proficient in all stations (Sauté, grills, fryer, cold foods, expo, prep) - Strong leadership skills - Works well under high pressure situations - Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively - Can withstand physical demands of job (prolonged standing, heavy lifting, long hours) - Must maintain exceptional hygiene and grooming habits - Must possess or attain a Serve Safe Manager certificate within 60 days of hire date We are an equal opportunity employer
