Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting departmentThis role will oversee a team of four and collaborate with all team leaders across the companyThe Controller will report directly to the Vice President and Treasurer.Key Responsibilities: Lead our annual financial audit, quarterly reviews, and monthly closing processesPrepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and prepare our quarterly consolidated reporting package (CRP) based on tight deadlines set forth by our parent company. Oversee invoicing, journal entries, cash receipts, accounts payable, fixed assets and maintain the general ledgerFile and review quarterly corporate tax returns as well as monthly sales tax returns for several statesPrepare and maintain sales reports by sales area and by salesman to be distributed to our sales team on a monthly basisReview balance sheet and expense analysisManage the annual JSOX audit and prepare the consolidated reporting package for our parent companyAssist in the preparation of annual budget and midyear forecastsAssist and support department leaders by identifying and implementing process improvements in order to enhance overall operating efficiencies and effectivenessEnsure compliance with all financial regulations and standardsProvide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions Qualifications: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant ControllerExperience reporting to a parent company is a plusCPA certification is a plus but not mandatoryStrong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulationsMust be highly analytical, motivated and committed to meeting tight deadlinesExcellent leadership, communication and team management skillsProficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office SuiteBenefits: Highly competitive benefits package50% match up to the first 12% of salaryProfit-sharing planCompany-paid life insurance benefits up to 1x salaryComprehensive medical benefits, including a company-funded difference card covering most deductibles and copays Compensation: Base pay and bonus will be based on experience
