Position Description: TerrAscend is currently seeking a Cultivation Irrigation Lead with experience in greenhouse operations, arboriculture, horticulture, or a related field. This role is crucial for ensuring optimal irrigation practices and moisture management within our greenhouse environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with Cultivation Managers, assuming full responsibility for irrigation operations in their absence. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions. Physical Requirements: * Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs * Capable of sitting, standing kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time * Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick * Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines * Utilize chemicals (such as bleach) to clean and maintain facility/equipment * Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Irrigation Oversight: Direct, monitor, and assist with specified irrigation operations under the guidance of the Cultivation Manager. Assume complete responsibility for irrigation tasks, including handling emergency responses such as dripper replacement, runoff and substrate checks, moisture and pH/EC probe calibration, doser function checks, line flushing, valve inspections, and operation of Wadsworth Irrigation and solenoid equipment. * Moisture Tracking: Accurately track and manage moisture content and dry backs. Utilize sensor platforms (e.g., Grodan, Ayroa, Growlink) to gather, read, and analyze data for effective moisture management. * Data Management: Read, export, and analyze data from sensor platforms to monitor system performance and make informed decisions. Prepare and present reports on irrigation and moisture levels as needed. * Coordination: Plan and coordinate irrigation schedules and tasks to optimize efficiency. Work closely with cultivation technicians to ensure smooth execution of irrigation operations. * Safety & Compliance: Implement and enforce safe work procedures in both greenhouse and field operations. Develop and adhere to Ilera's Standard Operating Procedures. * Problem-Solving: Address and resolve irrigation issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to cultivation processes. Qualifications and Experience * Experience: At least one year of experience in greenhouse, arboriculture, horticulture, or a related field. * Skills: Exceptional multi-tasking abilities, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with sensor platforms such as Grodan, Ayroa, and Growlink. * Knowledge: Familiarity with cannabis products is advantageous but not required. * Education: Relevant educational background in horticulture or a related field * Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to handle complex irrigation systems and respond to technical challenges effectively. Proficiency in using sensor platforms for reading, exporting, and analyzing data to improve irrigation and moisture management. * Background Check Requirement * As a condition of employment, a complete background investigation will be conducted based on the rules of the specific State in which the employee is hired.
