Salish Kootenai College seeks applicants for: Maintenance Technician Salary Range: $16.54 - $16.88/hr DOEE For a complete position description contact: Human Resources, 406-275-4985/4977 Closing Date: Monday, September 9, 2024 at 4:00pm MST General Summary: Maintain SKC property to ensure a safe work environment for staff/faculty. Responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of campus buildings. Repair of minor equipment. Supervision of some part time staff. Must be able to work with little supervision. Required to provide self-direction for identifying and completing tasks. Work hours must be flexible to allow for emergency situations on weekends, after hours, and holidays. Work in coordination with student housing services if needed. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. * Operate equipment in a safe manner * Replace broken windows, repair doors, door, locks, and closets, install window blinds. * Must have general knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry. * Have the ability to repair and maintain equipment. * Maintain records of scheduled maintenance performed. * Perform outside seasonal duties such as snow removal as required. This includes work in extreme work conditions. * May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, order parts as needed. * Hang drywall, tape, texture, and paint inside and outside of buildings. * Maintain a safe and clean property, internally, and externally. * Responsible for identifying items, maintenance/repair/improvement, along with completing the task and/or recommending appropriate action. * Ability to life 60 lbs, work from high up lifts, man baskets, and ladders. * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: * Minimum High School Diploma or GED * Three years responsible experience in building maintenance and repair * Two years supervisory experience * Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. * Preferred experience in an area of the building trades.
