SUMMARYWhile professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.An accounts receivable (AR) manager is responsible for the overall management of an organization's accounts receivable process. This includes cash application and deduction policies, and some invoicing processes. AR managers also oversee the accounts receivable and deductions teams, ensuring that their work is in line with accounting principles and legal regulations. An expert applied knowledge of trade planning and deduction management and an analytical/data driven approach are keys to success in this role. This role must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and have an outstanding attention to detail. The role will be required to manage multiple tasks/assignments. The accounts receivable manager will have contact with senior-level Executives, reporting to the Controller, and will require strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Set objectives for the accounts receivable and deductions teams that align with the accounting department's goalsSupport Accounts Receivable Clerks on a daily basis and train new team membersProvide support to the Sales and Accounting Teams to ensure promotional activity is reconciled, validated, and analyzed in a timely and accurate manner.Reconcile customer trade spend accounts against customer agreements and promotional contracts.Manage and maintain the Trade System for each vestigate deduction issues and work with customers to get invalid deductions repaid in a timely manner.Coordinate with the broker teams.Ensure compliance with trade spend programs, and monitor for risks and opportunities.Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc forecasting reportsEnsure all team members follow the accounting principlesStay updated on industry and legislative changesMonitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.Support Controller/Treasurer with special projects and workflow process mitment to safety begins with management. Managers and frontline supervisors are accountable for creating and maintaining a culture of Safety and assuring a safe work environment.Other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceBA/BS in Finance, or related degreeMinimum of five to seven years related experienceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to manage multiple tasks/assignments.EducationPreferredBachelors or better in Finance or related field
