Summary:Supervises work of production employees in the General fabrication/VALUE STREAM group, while ensuringappropriate manpower, materials, and information for department's workload. This group is comprised of thefabrication machine operators and the welders. These personnel may at times be shared and co-supervised byother supervisors in the company. Additionally, applies the BOSS as applicable in daily process. This is a full-timesalaried position. Specific Duties Include:• Schedules and manages on time delivery of the value stream of sheet metal fabrication.• Makes available daily schedules to employees and sets expectations of volume of work to be accomplished.• Directs work assignments of employees in department to maximize productivity while ensuring required quality.• Supervises department to ensure conformance with specifications, blueprints and job orders.• Performs production work in situations involving prototypes, emergencies or training• Coordinates with Job Managers on cross-departmental jobs for improved plant-wide productivity.• Uses Epicor to update schedules and job routings• Monitors the Epicor Dashboards as appropriate• Maintains machine schedules on the server• Determines raw material shortages (and stock items) and initiates purchase requisitions as necessary.• Reviews purchased parts requirements and notifies project managers of any shortages.• Inspects materials fabricated by shared services and other departments for conformance with specifications.• Insures that proper equipment, tools and supplies are available for jobs.• Has knowledge of and ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.• Maintains safety and cleanliness of department.• Makes recommendations regarding measures to improve production methods, equipment performance andproduct quality.• Supervises the quality and inspection to achieve quality metrics.• Assists in testing/inspection of product when necessary prior to shipment.• Maintains production files for work-in-process (jobs) and delivers to job manager upon job completion.• Other duties as assigned by Management.Skills and Qualifications:• This position requires the ability to sit, and bend or stand for extended periods of time.• This position will require working in a shop setting fabricating and assembling equipment.• During this time, you must be able to sit, kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. Also will require the ability to• move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds.
