This opportunity is contingent upon award Position Overview The Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD) Staff Officer will work as a contractor to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP). Work Location Pentagon, Arlington, VA Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors * Prepare briefings and staff packages for OUSD(l&S) leadership on state-of- the-art counterproliferation of WMD and WMD delivery systems to include chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. * Evaluate commercial technologies, to include preparing compatibility studies, which could reduce the need for further R&D and/or reduce duplication of efforts at the Department level. * Assist in the development of processes and frameworks within the DoD and, where appropriate, the broader interagency and Intelligence Community (IC); be able to distinguish between applications and the appropriate Title authorities (e.g., Title 10, Title 50, etc.) for their use. * Represent C-WMD at various working-level meetings and conferences. Take notes and prepare meeting minutes and/or after-action reports based. Make recommendations to senior leadership on potential paths forward. * Develop OSD staffing packages with lime-sensitive requirements for senior leadership approval to include the Secretary of Defense and National Security Council. * Develop and coordinate staff packages and technical mission integration efforts within DoD and across the IC. Education and Minimum Qualifications * Must be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance. * Bachelor's Degree. * Minimum of 10 years of experience with policy development or policy analysis work within the Department of Defense. Relevant fields could include assessments, operational requirements and risk, or operational planning. * Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting sensitive activities and national security requirements within DoD or Intelligence Community and mission integration on a military or interagency staff.
