Videos Help Duties * Serves as a Life-Cycle Project Manager, with overall responsibility for managing the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of important civil works, inter-agency, and inter-governmental projects. * Provides expert project management for projects of high dollar value of national priority, of environmental sensitivity, of extraordinary urgency, or having similar requirements and leads teams through the USACE Project Delivery Business Process. * Works collaboratively across functionally diverse teams to develop solutions to technically complex water resource problems and engineering challenges. * Responsible for overall project planning, execution, control and closure of civil works projects associated with flood risk management, navigation, hydropower, ecosystem restoration, water supply, and other water resource related missions. * Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through construction and initial operations with a focus on meeting project objectives. * Facilitates the development of resource loaded schedules, monitors project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, analyzes financial data using Automated Information Systems, and supports the formulation of risk-informed decisions. * Assists budget development and defense processes, supports, programming decisions, and provides input for the operating budget. * Fosters positive working relationships internally while serving as the District's primary point-of-contact for assigned projects. * Assists in the development of other project management professionals through mentoring, training, and review of work products. * Gains and maintains approval of Project Management Plans from District and/or Division leadership.
