Effective: August 16, 2023 Pay Rate: $20.00 per hourPurpose of Position:To provide maximum electric service to member-consumers at the lowest possible cost by providing prompt, efficient, accurate, reliable, and courteous service that will promote goodwill and effective relationships between employees of the Cooperative and between the Cooperative and its members.Minimum Job Specifications:All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities. Sufficient hearing and vision to perform all job tasks. Impaired hearing and/or vision must not present a safety hazard to the employee, other employees and/or the general public. Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods during the work shift. Must possess advanced typing, word processing, and/or computer skills and be able to operate general office machines. Must be able to communicate on a telephone and/or a two-way radio system. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Must be able and willing to work outside in various types of weather as needed. Some risks due to unrestrained pets. Must be aware of proper public relations as it relates to Peace River Electric Cooperative. Must understand the administrative policy for Peace River Electric Cooperative, Inc.Working Conditions: Primary duties are in an office environment but must be willing to work outside from time to time. Must be able to work as a team member.Education/Training Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Pursuing an Associate's Degree or higher and/or experience and job knowledgeEssential Duties/Responsibilities:The following are essential responsibilities of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of the fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of this position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Peace River Electric Cooperative. The basic requirement of every position is to perform all tasks as assigned by your supervisor. This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an "at will" employment relationship. The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude and includes the following: a) getting along with co-workers, b) cooperating with co-workers, c) responding politely to customers, d) working as a team member, e) functioning under intense time pressure, f) responding in a positive manner to supervision. Must be able to use the following applications with limited training: Word, Excel, Access, AutoCAD, Mapwise Mapping and Staking, iVUE Financials and Service (accounting and customer) software. Responsible for sending letters, invoices, and other necessary paperwork as it relates to new service requests and other department functions. Responsible for scanning and filing right-of-way easements. Must be able to update existing records and maps from completed jobs. Coordinates appointments between Engineering personnel and customers as needed. Must have knowledge of each county's property appraiser's website and access county documents for easement requirements. Have an ability to gain understanding of RUS specifications. Have an ability to gain understanding of how to design power lines, including: a) wire size, b) span lengths, c) wire sag using tensions or target, d) figure transformer loads to size poles, e) size anchors and guy wires using tensions, angle factors and soil density, f) check loads on existing transformers, g) size new transformers using the proposed load, h) size the secondary wire, and i) insure proper voltage and metering is called for. 10. Prepares work orders, staking sheets, maps, and sketches from information provided manually or by use of computer applications. 11. Prepares cost estimates, invoices, and easements. 12. Researches and processes building inspections for new services on county websites or email portal. 13. Updates new service request information and answers new consumer phone calls. 14. Compiles and enters data for job cost analysis and new construction workflows. 15. Record keeping of CAC returns from developers.
