Accepting applications for Project Manager 1 About Us: The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities oversees a statewide system of support and services that ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with developmental disabilities. To learn more, visit What You'll Do: * On behalf of the Director, leads and manages of initiative and projects within the Ohio LifeCourse Nexus team, including projects aimed at access and inclusion that reduce the challenges faced by marginalized populations seeking and receiving services in the developmental disability system and from other sources. Provides recommendations to advance accessibility, improve quality, and eliminate disparities in developmental disability services. Develops strategies, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and drives meaningful change to create an environment that values and respects all people living with developmental disabilities; Develops project plans, timelines, and budgets for initiatives. Monitors project progress, identifies potential obstacles, and implements corrective actions as needed to ensure successful project execution. Coordinates cross-functional teams and allocates resources effectively to achieve project milestones. Approves payment within projects and work with contractors and/or grantees to ensure project deliverables and requirements are being met; develops comprehensive Ohio LifeCourse Nexus strategy that aligns with the department's mission, goals, and values, incorporating strategies to reduce the challenges faced by marginalized populations; collaborates with senior leadership to establish measurable objectives, key performance indicators, and timelines for initiatives; works closely with internal departments, external partners, and community organizations to foster collaboration and gather insights for informed decision-making. * Designs and delivers training programs that enhance understanding of priority concepts, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace. Collaborates with subject matter experts to create educational materials, workshops, and seminars; reviews and analyzes existing policies, procedures, practices, and system wide services to identify opportunities for promoting accessibility and inclusion to all people with developmental disabilities. Develops recommendations and work with relevant teams to implement changes that align with best practices; establishes methods for tracking and measuring the impact of initiatives to reduce barriers faced by Ohioans with developmental disabilities. Produces regular progress reports for senior leadership. Analyzes data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and success stories; represents the department in external events, conferences, and forums. Collaborates with community organizations to create partnerships that further agencies' strategic goals. Works closely with internal departments, external partners, and community organizations to foster collaboration and gather insights for informed decision-making. Establish relationships with diverse stakeholders to ensure representation and inclusivity in all initiatives. * Performs other functions within range & scope of position to direct policy for the DD population. Visit the Ohio Deferred Compensation website for more information. 3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects. * Or successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects. * Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
