Description:Job TitleMR/CT Modality ManagerReports toSenior Manager of OperationsStatusFull-Time/ExemptMR & CT Modality Manager Position SummaryThe MR CT Modality Manager will work with the guidance of the physician director of MR/CT, the MR/CT committee, and the Leadership Council to oversee all aspects of the MR/CT practice in the offices at SMIL. Provide leadership & management to all MR/CT Department Supervisors and will assist in supervising all MR/CT staff in accordance with the organization's policies.MR & CT Modality Manager Detailed ResponsibilitiesManaging MR/CT protocols: the manager will be responsible for working with the MR/CT committee and the Protocol Developer to develop and improve imaging protocols and sequences. With increasing numbers of scanners and vendor platforms, the need to have organized, uniform, and easily accessible protocol documents is imperative. The manager and his/her site MR/CT supervisors will employ the developing SMIL MR/CT Wiki to keep the protocols uniform, up-to-date, and accessible. This will be an ongoing and evolving process to keep SMIL MR/CT images the best possible.Technologist education: the manager will monitor and coordinate organized technologist education efforts such as periodic MR/CT training courses. The manager will also work with the MR/CT trainers in helping coordinate in-house technologist education and training, working with the radiologists to identify deficiencies and correct those deficiencies. The MR/CT Manager will work with site MR/CT supervisors to identify local or regional training/CME opportunities that will benefit the technologists and the practice - for example, needed and worthwhile opportunities in emerging areas such as cardiac MRI.MR/CT Hardware and Software assessment: the manager will work with the physician director of MR/CT and the MR/CT committee in assessing and implementing new hardware and software products. This may require site visits and attendance of national meetings such as RSNA.Optimizing Scanner Scheduling: the manager will work with the scheduling department to optimize scanner scheduling efficiency. This will involve detailed knowledge of protocols and examination workflow.Optimizing Scanner Operational and Workflow Efficiency: the manager will work closely with Process Improvement and the site MR/CT supervisors to optimize scanner efficiency and workflow. This will require a detailed understanding of the protocols, procedures, and processes of the scanners and sites. The goal will be relatively uniform, streamlined processes across the practice.Scanner ACR Accreditation: the manager will work with the physicist and the site supervisors to maintain ACR accreditation of all scanners within the practice. This will involve overseeing and maintaining necessary QC performance and documentation.MR/CT Safety: the MR/CT manager will work with the physician director of MR/CT and the site supervisors to maintain an ongoing MR/CT safety program as suggested by the ACR including necessary safety education for technologists.Overseeing MR/CT department manpower needs based on capacity and efficiency: the manager will work with supervisors to identify and plan for technologist and tech aide manpower needs based on evidence he/she discovers regarding magnet capacity and workflow efficiencies.Employee Management and Hiring: Conducts annual evaluations of staff performance in-line with the Company's performance standards: Attendance, Quality, Productivity, Customer Service, Teamwork, Job Knowledge, Communication, Problem Solving, Initiative & Energy, and Workplace Guidelines.
