Want to make an application Make sure your CV is up to date, then read the following job specs carefully before applying.Marketing and Communications |Classification/FLSA Status: Level II (Exempt)Primary Function: The marketing and communications creative manager, under the direction of the director for marketing and communication, designs, plans and implements a comprehensive program of college marketing, communications, public information, publications, content and project management. This individual is responsible for the visual identity of the college and, along with the director, acts as the brand manager for all college collaterals.Key Responsibilities:Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, identity, and brand of Sherman College of Chiropractic throughout the institution and to all constituencies, both internal and external.Ensure articulation of Sherman College's image position and brand throughout the institution, in all materials, and to all constituencies, both internal and external.Collaborate with colleagues across campus to develop content for college marketing and communications initiatives/events, with preference given to the Offices of Institutional Advancement and Enrollment Services; additional work will support the President's Office, Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, Lyceum, the Chiropractic Health Center and other departments as time and priority allow.Collaborate with colleagues across campus to design branded art, visuals and graphics for various marketing collateral, including advertisements or informational/educational items necessary to meet the department's needs.Write, edit, design and assist in the production of internal and external college materials, including publications (Excel magazine), the Sherman Shares e-newsletter, enrollment/recruiting publications and e-newsletters and other internal and external college communications.Write, edit, and help produce news releases, social media content, blog content and other information and materials (articles, publications) for the college and for local and chiropractic media.Work with the director to update and manage student data in Merit regularly so that information is shared with and about students in a timely and efficient manner each quarter.Assist other college departments with creating and sending mass emails as needed to maintain archives, data and mailing lists.Work closely with the digital media producer to ensure a cohesive brand message across all platforms, print and digital.Train and oversee work-study students and/or international students completing service in the department.Mentor interns seeking experience in marketing and design through collaboration with our experiential health center learning model.Lend enthusiastic support to college policies and to fellow co-workers, particularly in the presence of students.Participate in professional development opportunities that enhance skills and spark forward-thinking ideas to elevate engagement via marketing and communications when permitted by budget.Participate in the annual Lyceum program.Fulfill other duties as assigned by the director of marketing and communications.Demonstrate commitment to the mission of Sherman College at all times.Basic Knowledge and Skills:Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a major in communications, journalism, graphic design, visual communications, digital media design, interactive design or related studies;A portfolio with samples of work required;Excellent verbal and written communication skills;Proficiency in Microsoft programs (particularly Publisher, PowerPoint, Word and Excel); experience in graphic design programs (such as Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Canva); and social media/email marketing software (such as Hootsuite, Bloomerang, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.);The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities under deadline;Ability to compose and prepare reports, records and correspondence without error;Ability to deal effectively with the public and college constituents in giving and obtaining information.Preferred Knowledge and Skills:Previous higher education or non-profit experience;Knowledge of chiropractic.Physical demands and work environment:Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
