We are looking for: The Quality Manager is responsible for managing QA/QC functions for the Kalamazoo, MI KM & APC2 polymer manufacturing facility. This role will also support production as necessary to achieve organizational objectives in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, this individual is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in quality systems , safety, and culture. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting and interfacing with customers, production teams and offsite quality personnel. We count on you for: Adhere to all required safety procedures applicable in manufacturing. Identify opportunities to improve quality systems and culture. Manage the site's AS-9100/QMS in adherence with Syensqo guidelines. Monitor and track quality metrics while identifying areas of improvement and closing quality gaps. Develop and implement corrective actions to customer complaints using Root-Cause-Analysis techniques. Provide direction to lab technician in day-to-day activities. Oversee laboratory day-to-day operations and plan its strategic use. Responsible for development of lab technician and training in quality best practices and procedures. Design and implement quality improvements Execute studies to improve current quality processes and systems. High involvement with equipment and raw material suppliers to solve existing problems and improve product quality. High Involvement with KM customers to determine their requirements, answer questions, and get feedback. Participate in HAZOPS and incident investigations, as needed. Responsible for product quality. Oversee use of Gensuite® and other quality management systems as they pertain to quality. Utilize SAP and LIMS fully. Provide technical support to troubleshoot production processes in terms of quality performance Complete all auxiliary duties as assigned by Site Manager. Attend production meetings to provide feedback on processes and assist in scheduling activities. The ability to successfully give and receive feedback from both peers and managers is essential. Demonstrated leadership, decision making skills, and functionality in a team environment. Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments is required. Highly resourceful, able to seek out and acquire new knowledge or subject material quickly, and transfer knowledge effectively to others. HSE RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow all site safety rules and procedures. Lead by example and hold others accountable for all Syensqo HSE policies. Participate in Pre-Start up Safety Reviews, Critical Task Analyses, monthly safety meetings, JSA's and other risk reduction processes by lending experience and knowledge Participate in incident investigations and implementing corrective actions learned from the investigation process. BS/MS in Chemical engineering, Chemistry, or other applicable technical field is preferred. Demonstrated leadership preferably in a management/supervision position. 5 years of experience working in a lab and industrial environment Understanding of laboratory equipment and procedures. Familiar with ISO9001/ AS-9100 QMS systems Excellent analytical and problem solving skills (an understanding of polymer chemistry is a plus) Excellent oral and written communication. Excellent computer skills and ability to become proficient in SAP, Lab software and Microsoft® Office applications. You will get: Competitive salary and benefits package The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,880 to $120,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
