Location Elk Grove Village,IL Description Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Data Center Technician to its team. This role will work onsite in Elk Grove Village, IL and works Monday-Friday 3pm-12am. This is a 5-month contract to hire role that pays $28.85 per hour. The key to this role is prior experience as a Data Center Technician and a positive attitude. Upon conversion this role offers increased compensation,an annual bonus plan, and a strong benefit package. Job Responsibilities: They will be preforming rack and stack on servers and network assets in a data center The Tech will need to install and test fiber and copper cabling They will also need to know how to terminate copper They will need to reboot a device and have general familiarity with how severs work Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred Work on ladders 7-8 feet off the floor Install servers that can weight up to 40-50 lbs. (will use a server lift and always working in teams) They are occasionally asked to be on trouble shooting calls or speak to the client Very fast paced and busy data center environment Required Skills: 2+ years of data center experience Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Teams) High School Diploma or GED Teachability and a positive attitude is highly valued Ability to work on a team Adaptable Attention to detail Preferred Skills: Outside accreditations Customer service experience Experience using a Fluke cable tester would be highly preferred
