We are looking for a Contract Manager Specialist who will be responsible for providing legal and business support for contracts with state and local government and educational customers located throughout the country. Location: Ashburn, VA / Basking Ridge NJ / Washington DC - Hybrid Position: Contract Manager Specialist Pay: $98.75/hr. on W2 Duration: 25 months or longer Hybrid: 1x per month onsite What you'll be doing... This position is essential in helping the client secure additional and maintain existing contracts, increase revenue, and provide a positive customer experience. You will contribute to the success of the client's Public Sector Sales team by providing legal and business support for contracts with state and local government and educational customers located throughout the country. You will be responsible for a wide range of contract and other activities: analyzing customer solicitations and agreements, developing proposal documents, negotiating terms and conditions, participating on a cross-functional team to resolve contract disputes, and preparing amendments, renewals and close-out documentation. You also will have the opportunity to contribute your best ideas to help the client meet its sales and business objectives. You will interpret and negotiate contract terms, to interact effectively with senior management, and to exercise sound business and legal judgment. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with attorneys and other stakeholders in the sales process, including product / project management, business and technical experts, and finance. The client is looking for someone with the right mix of confidence, versatility and a customer service attitude to interface with external procurement personnel as the point of contact for contractual discussions. Respond to customer solicitations, such as reviewing, analyzing and responding to requests for proposals, assisting in the preparation of proposals and preparing certain required certifications and representations. Research relevant law, procurement requirements and other legal/business issues. Strategically plan for and conduct customer negotiations over contract terms and contract disputes. Assist counsel in negotiation of non-standard terms and significant contract disputes. Support all aspects of Verizon's sale and provision of services to state and municipal governments. Participate, as needed, in customer meetings and discussions. Assist sales teams and engage other Verizon stakeholders, as needed, to respond to Customer requests in a timely manner. Draft contractual documents, ensure that final contract documents are accurate & consistent with negotiated positions. Maintain communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties. Monitor and help ensure compliance with the procurement, disclosure and ethical requirements associated with doing business with government entities. Participate in internal and external contract audits. Become familiar with and stay abreast of the client's expanding product portfolio, including voice and data services, 911 services, contact center products, security services, and professional services, among others. Implement and support continuous improvement program. This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience. One or more years of relevant work experience. Contract management or sourcing experience. Experience negotiating and/or managing complex agreements. Knowledge of or willingness to learn state and local government contracting law and the internal Verizon processes relevant to contract management. Even better if you have one or more of the following: A JD or previous paralegal experience. Sales or Sales Support experience ideally, with technology, services, and infrastructure. Strong relationship building, influencing, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated communication skills - both verbal and written. Knowledge or willingness to learn state procurement requirements. Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines. This particular client may require all new hires show proof of vaccination.
