Job Description: This Leader establishes best-practice standards and ensures the safety, quality, and compliance for Nutrition Services operations while utilizing and developing enhanced business, measurement tools, and practices. This position leads centralization and standardization initiatives across major services utilized throughout the system. Delivers innovative leadership to create an exceptional environment and experience for all consumers. Builds strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders. The success of this position results in financial cost savings and increased revenue, clinical and consumer benefits and experience, and improved efficiencies across Intermountain Health. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Nutrition Services. Essential Functions Leads a team of facility directors and managers with oversight of the Nutrition Service's Culinary Services spanning a specific geographic and/or patient population. The roll-up span of control for this Leader role varies from 1 to 12 departments with 160 or more caregivers and requires the ability to effectively lead through others including both mentoring and empowering service line leaders. They will have full budget responsibility and accountability for the Nutrition Services service line and departments assigned. This Leader effectively uses the Intermountain Operating Model (IOM) to support the implementation and continuous improvement of systems and software. This Leader develops and implements successful strategies that support the Nutrition Services operating model to drive initiatives. This Leader will work in tandem and collaboration with other Nutrition Services senior directors to ensure system alignment across all culinary teams within the system. If supporting a pediatric facility, State licensure or certification in accordance with the primary state of residence requirement for Registered Dietitians. If the primary state of residence requires licensure or certification, this must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Thorough knowledge of culinary services. Demonstrated Nutrition Services leadership and management. Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, healthcare, business administration, or other applicable program of study. Degree obtained through an accredited institution. Master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, healthcare or business administration. Degree obtained through an accredited institution, preferred Ten years of experience in a leadership role preferred. Three years' experience in process measurement, process improvement, reengineering, and health systems research, preferred. Culinary Services experience in acute and ambulatory care settings, preferred. Culinary Services experience in infant, pediatric, and adult care settings, preferred. Two years of continuous improvement experience or continuous improvement certification preferred. Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements Ability to travel throughout client service areas as necessary, including overnight, to ensure responsibilities and service requirements are being met. Regular attendance to perform work remotely and on-site during regularly scheduled business hours is required. Ongoing need for employees to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require employees to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc. May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs when the leader takes clinical shifts.
