TheGlobal Communications Leader, GCSO & Data Science is responsible for driving best-in-class communication about the progress and impact of the Company's data science and precision medicine efforts in the context of the larger J&J story. The Leader acts with an enterprise mentality and works collaboratively across functions and Regions to drive a leadership position for J&J Innovative Medicine. The Leader will enhance reputation, devising the overall data science/precision medicine communication strategy, end-to-end messaging platform, channel engagement approach and creative assets. The Communications Leader will work closely with R&D, Commercial and Supply Chain partners to craft and amplify a compelling narrative across channels, including owned, earned, social media and speaking engagements. The Leader is expected to acquire a deep knowledge of data science, precision medicine and the Innovative Medicine portfolio and will be an active member of data science leadership teams. The Leader also plays a key role in driving Innovative Medicine's broader portfolio communications strategy by identifying and implementing new opportunities for executive thought leadership, media relations and content creation to differentiate the company with key audiences. The Communications Leader will deploy and lead all aspects of an external agency and freelance team to complete these position objectives. Key Responsibilities: Devise and execute end-to-end external communication strategy and messaging platform for data science and precision medicine in Innovative Medicine; significant collaboration, leadership and alignment with sector and enterprise leaders to drive the communication strategy and contribute to overall success of the broader business; Works as a critical team colleague as part of the broader Communications team, including generating ideas and leads for new opportunities to modernize how we engage, serving as an expert on public relations, media, digital and other opportunities Devise and implement internal communication strategies to educate, encourage and accelerate colleague adoption of these capabilities As a member of data science leadership teams, provide strategic counsel to data science Officers; develop and guide implementation of executive engagement strategy, ensuring strong external positioning and driving meaningful business outcomes. Co-lead development of J&J portfolio communication strategy and implement partner activation strategies; includes contributing to broader Communications & Public Affairs priorities across Global Commercial Strategy organizations. Lead on data science partner management and collaboration communications Education: Bachelors degree required Experience and Skills: Required: 10 years of experience managing communication in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency Global attitude and successful record of working in a global function, with direct experience of leading on international projects, issues and teams Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, commercialization, and the pharmaceutical industry; knowledge or strong interest in Data Science and emerging methods/technologies in life sciences Eagerness to learn about a quickly evolving space, strong business discernment with understanding of competitive and industry priorities that drive business and social value Proactive steward of telling end-to-end Data Science story, advising on best opportunities for impact Ability to lead, motivate and coach project teams, external agencies, and individuals Ability to convene diverse business partners, establish common goals and align on measurable communication strategy Strong experience in developing multimedia content (particular focus on paid and social strategies), audience segmentation and targeted communications Proven record in driving earned media opportunities and speaker engagements Strong written English skills and ability to draft compelling core materials for multiple audiences Proven experience with providing communications counsel and support to senior Company executives Ability to demonstrate tangible business outcomes through effective measurement and analytics Demonstrated ability of leading priorities in a fast-paced, environment Experience in managing budgets and prioritization across projects Exercise excellent judgment always Salary: The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950. Bonus: The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
