Facility Maintenance Technician I - 3rd Shift (Sun 11p - Fri 7a) Job Summary: Facility Maintenance Technician I has a basic to mid-range understanding of all Maintenance Mechanic related activities and duties and performs work with a moderate amount of supervision or guidance. The Facility Maintenance Technician I will support the Seymour Manufacturing Site facility related equipment, buildings and systems/processes which includes basic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repairs of existing facilities and facility related equipment as well as supporting others with the installation of new equipment and technologies. Responsibilities: Perform basic preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on facilities and facility related equipment, utilities and systems. Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical and/or electrical components on facility related equipment. Assist/support with new installation or system modification for all equipment and mechanical systems. Participate in equipment modifications, rearrangements or small projects. Conduct basic inspection of equipment and the facility to identify and report issues or defects and proper reporting methods to supervision. Perform basic duties as needed for emergency and corrective repairs. Flexibility of work hours and/or days along with the ability to work overtime as needed to support 24/7 plant operations. Takes initiative to improve skill and techniques. Work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment. Maintain documentation of all maintenance activities. Execute basic computer functions for communications and work order execution. Follow all safety practices, recognize hazards and perform necessary corrections. Communicates with production and other various customers as needed to complete work activities. Presents maintenance and repair information in individual and small group situations. Communicates with internal and external customers on a regular basis. Education/Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED required A minimum of 0-3 years of industrial maintenance experience is required. Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics Technology, Instrumentation or Electronics degree is desirable. A license and/or a certification course from a recognized source in HVAC management are desired. Training in the form of an apprentice program with on the job training would also be taken under consideration. Minimum of 0-3 years of applicable hands-on industrial experience with facilities and facility related equipment, parts, tooling and systems within a regulated environment. Pharmaceutical experience or GMP experience is desired. Basic knowledge and use of electrical, hand tools and test equipment common to maintenance technicians. Basic mechanical, electrical, and trouble-shooting skills. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics. Basic knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of facilities and facility related equipment and spaces. Light machining, fabrication and welding skills are preferred. Ability to identify and order parts needed to complete corrective and preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner. Capability to perform/review mechanical and electrical diagrams as well as a basic understanding of how to read blueprints. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required. Basic knowledge and understanding of computers, PLCs, VFDs and other machine control systems/devices or equipment is preferred. Must exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills. Build and maintain a close working relationship with customers to ensure customer service satisfaction. Ability to be flexible with work priorities and work effectively as part of a team. Team player with a "can-do" attitude and a proven track record of attendance. Traditional industrial work environment, with frequent walking to other areas of the facility, including production areas, loading docks, mechanical spaces, roofs, catwalks and warehouse spaces. Must be able to wear company designated protective equipment for extended periods of time, including respirators, CAL rated ARC flash gear etc. Must be able to stand and perform tasks or repairs for the entire work shift. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or greater and using dollies or carts, hand trucks be able to move items weighing over 100 pounds. Must be able to operate man or personnel lifts for the purpose of required work activities. Must be able to work in hot and/or cold conditions for periods of time to complete assignments.
