Job Type Full-time Description Position Overview: The Press Brake Operator is responsible for reviewing part drawings and setting up and operating 1 of 6 brake press machines. Entering in bend dimensions and bend deductions based on the different gages of sheet metal. A strong candidate will have good math skills having the ability to convert inches into decimals (for example: 3 ¼" = 3.25") and having the ability to visualize a 3-dimensional part prior to bending a flat shape, similar to seeing a paper airplane in your head before folding the paper. Having experience operating a press brake is a plus. Overtime during busy months. Essential Job Functions: Safety Sensitive position. Set up and operate machines such as brakes, rolls, sheers, saws, and presses. Read and interpret blueprints, part drawings and engineering specifications. Performing mathematical calculations. Learning the controller on the brake press and adjusting bend programs when needed. Lifting metal parts that could weigh as much as 50lbs. Make minor repairs and adjustments to machines and notifies supervisor when major service is required. Maintain cleanliness in assigned area and all safety standards. Support other departments as necessary. Perform additional assignments in accordance with the Shop Supervisor's direction. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance. Excellent time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Good organizational skills. Proficient basic math skills. Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment. Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and vendors. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Trained in lockout/tagout (LOTO). Demonstrate hands-on shop floor experience in both metal and wood manufacturing. Minimum of one (1) year of machine or press brake operating experience.
