This Opportunity FPA is currently searching for a full-time Project Engineer (Traffic) who will be responsible for developing detailed traffic reports that support project planning, design, and implementation. This role requires a professional with a strong background in traffic engineering, exceptional technical writing skills, and a proven track record in producing high-quality reports. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey and have at least 5 years of relevant experience. Core Responsibilities Prepare thorough and accurate traffic reports that include traffic impact studies, safety assessments, and management plans. Ensure reports are well-structured, clear, and tailored to meet the needs of various stakeholders. Analyze traffic data, including traffic counts, flow patterns, and collision data, to support the development of traffic reports and recommendations. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather data, provide technical input, and ensure that traffic reports align with project objectives and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all traffic reports comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Address any regulatory concerns or requirements in the report preparation process. Engage with clients to understand their needs, present findings, and respond to feedback regarding traffic reports and studies. Utilize traffic engineering software and tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) to support data analysis and reporting tasks. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in traffic reporting. Prepare plans and studies required to obtain NJDOT access permits for a variety of public and private development projects. Prepare plans and specifications related to the design of traffic signal systems. Review and verify the accuracy of traffic reports and associated data, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet the firm's standards and client expectations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, with a specific focus on preparing traffic reports and impact studies. Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey is preferred. PTOE preferred Knowledge of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) standards. Proficiency in traffic analysis and simulation software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM), and strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to produce detailed, clear, and comprehensive technical reports. Exceptional technical writing skills are essential. Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, transportation planning, and relevant regulations and standards. Knowledge of NJDOT Access Management Code and experience preparing access permit applications preferred. Knowledge of NJDOT traffic signal design standards and experience in the design of traffic signal systems preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to clients and stakeholders. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of report preparation and data analysis.
