In this role you will be responsible for on-site compliance with regulatory agencies; to include: MSHA; OSHA; BATF; DOT; DEP; local state & town regulatory agencies. Fostering a safety culture while ensuring that the divisions and operations comply with applicable regulations and company standards. What you will be doing: Conduct safety observations at jobsites, magazines, & shops to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards (MSHA; OSHA; DOT; BATF; DEP; state & local regulatory agencies); document non-compliant conditions; responsible persons and actions required. Distribute safety observation reports to responsible division or operation; work as a team to correct conditions found. Correct non-compliant conditions at time of observation when able. Collaborate and assist with incident investigations, facilitate WC claim submission, and assist employees in utilizing a return-to-work program. Maintain consistent communication with their Regional Safety Manager/Supervisor to establish priorities and ensure that the strategic safety goals of the companies are achieved. Demonstrate a strong safety focus; belief that the safety and health of all employees is not just about compliance, but about ensuring that everyone makes it home safely every day. Communicate the message of the Company Safety Vision and Values. In order to be successful in this role, here is what we will need from you: Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and establish mutual trust quickly. Ability to ask thoughtful questions and take a collaborative approach to problem solving. Proven understanding of safety principles, regulations, and best practices. Has knowledge to identify general safety hazards and ensure that all team members are aligned. About You You are an experienced Safety Professional. An Associates degree or higher is preferred, but not required. Your experience within the construction industry is highly valued. You have a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, record keeping, and injury management skills.
