Claims Manager Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position: The Claims Manager will lead a team of subject matter experts to support operational tasks for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following tasks: Provide day-to-day operational engagement with NFIP Claims branch Provide day-to-day operational engagement with insurers and vendors on behalf of FEMA Provide subject matter expertise for NFIP meetings, communications, and outreach Proactively identify risks and issues and add them to the Registers in a timely fashion Manage and maintain all assigned risks, issues, mitigation plans and action items Provide status updates and identify blockers in the Daily Stand Up(s) Champion process and/or system enhancements designed to improve stakeholder engagement for NFIP Submit contract deliverables on time Manage project schedules to ensure timeliness of contract and ad hoc deliverables, work products, SLAs, tasks and disaster response Because the Claims Manager is responsible for managing several direct reports, duties will also include the following: Develop plans and manage the execution of all Claims Admin and Claims Flood Disaster Response (FDR) processes Coach, train and motivate members of the Claims Admin and FDR Team Document performance and conduct performance appraisals Prepare reports on operations and activities, and Ensure quality control over deliverables, work products and reports Position Requirements: Candidates must meet or exceed each of the following minimum qualifications (no exceptions, please): At least 3 years of operations / business service management experience At least 3 years of people management experience Bachelor's Degree Demonstrated background with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) with 5+ years of experience If not ANFI certified, committed to securing ANFI certification within the first 6 months Exceptional customer relationship management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint Highly organized, energetic, creative, team player Must be US Citizen Ability to obtain Public Trust Must complete the NFIP course series through EMI within the first 30 days Must be able to complete EOD high Nice to Have: Project Management certification (e.g. PMP) Strong P&C background, a quick and eager learner when it comes to NFIP business processes Experience with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Insurity or another leading P&C insurance software system Working knowledge of Agile project management Hands-on experience with business process improvement, lean, and/or RPA Experience with process audit preparation, submission, remediation, and closeout Experience with SharePoint, SharePoint forms and lists and MS Project This is a full-time position paying a base salary of 110,000 , and full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
