Mountain G Enterprises is seeking talented an individual to join our team and contribute to our continued success. MGE is recruiting for a Construction Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing substation and transmission line projects, with a strong emphasis on concrete construction and site development. Construction projects consist of Substation and Transmission Line removal, repair, & installation of concrete; as well as site development. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for the successful organization, management of projects from initiation to completion, and directly supervising the General Foremen in the field. This position requires travel and hands-on knowledge of foundation concrete set-up, forming, drilling, pouring, and finishing; as well as the ability to lead a diverse team successfully with limited supervision. This position reports directly to the Construction Director. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a safety culture using tools provided to achieve a goal of zero lost time & zero accidents annually. Maintain project quality that exceeds industry standards & the expectations of LSI, Client, & Project Owner. In collaboration with general foreman & project manager, meet project budgets. Maintain positive employee, client, subcontractor, & inspector relationships. Demonstrate an understanding of project plans and specifications with the ability to interpret those in the field. Maintain accurate project schedules & timelines. Communicate! Communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project. Contributes to team success by actively participating in and achieving project goals. Activities Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and the manpower and construction equipment requirements of the project Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications and within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit Assist in the activities of the project manager/engineer in their duties including prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment, in obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to permit them to perform their work effectively and to integrate it with project schedules and progress Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes Assist in the preparation of all job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual costs Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents Cooperate with the owner and his representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress Cooperate with architects or owner representatives on an amicable basis, but in the long-term interest of the company Hold job site meetings with the project manager and the regional manager Report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules Maintain a daily diary to permanently record all significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner representative contacts, commitments, agreements and approvals Direct adherence to the company's safety program in all phases and areas of the project Make decisions under tight deadlines Organize people, tools, and equipment and plan/manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and adequately address conflict Demonstrate a relentless pursuit of quality by continuously evaluating and improving project processes, actively seeking customer feedback, and consistently exceeding both internal and external customer expectations. Basic Qualifications Required - 3+ years of energy sector experience in Substation and Transmission Line foundation construction. Required - experience in drilled shaft construction. Slurry drilling & rock drilling a plus. Required - experience in flatwork, forming & finishing concrete to including rebar casing, alignment, & tying. Required - experience in conduit installation. Required - experience in substation grounding, ground rods, and connections. Required - Valid driver's license with clean record Strong interpersonal skills for conferring with accountants, clients, and upper management Communication skills for interacting with support personnel and management Attention to detail and critical thinking is expected Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work Ability to read and understand geotechnical reports. Computer proficiency with Outlook email, Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.), Bluebeam/Adobe, SharePoint, GPS Site development with utilities and grading expertise a plus.
