A chemical engineering and manufacturing company based in Norwich, CT is seeking a Safety Officer to sit onsite in their Norwich, CT location. This position is responsible for the safety, health and well-being of all employees and contractors working in the manufacturing areas, reviewing/approving manufacturing procedures, batch records, and change requests, leading incident investigations, ensuring safety procedures are followed and identifying safety risks. On a day to day, you'll work with the Manufacturing Team to identify root cause of any potential near miss incidents and reinforce safety practices. You will also ensure there is proper storage of raw/hazardous materials. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry 10+ years of experience ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed 5-10 years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment Ability to enforce policies and conduct trainings Nice to Have Skills & Experience CSP certification Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
