MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: •High school diploma or equivalent •Minimum 1 years of previous experience in electronic troubleshooting or equivalent training PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Prior experience with automated test system preferred. (Audio Precision test, Listen Soundcheck, LabView, Acoustic Testing). •Prior hands-on failure analysis experience in electronics preferred. •Six sigma and lean manufacturing preferred. ABOUT THE JOB! Inspect, measure and test Gentex purchased products in accordance with drawings, specification, customer flow down and incoming inspection/test plans. Process customer return materials through the Gentex internal RMA process and drive expedites from receipt to final disposition while trying to maintain a cycle time metric to close. RESPONSIBILITIES: •Assure all products meet the requirements of the product drawing, specification, purchase order and the inspection plan. •Perform visual and mechanical inspection of components in accordance with the inspection plan to detect missing hardware, soldering defects, assembly errors/defects, alignment defects and/or cosmetic defects and to ensure conformance to specified dimensions, specifications and quality standards and maintain appropriate records. •Ability to create and process AS9102 First Article Inspection reports. •Process non-conforming product to Material Review Board for disposition. •Perform necessary transactions to move product as needed. •Trouble shoot product returns to confirm the customer reported issues. •Participate in failure analysis investigation process for the product return and update the results in the RMA access database. •Troubleshooting test rejects and/or test equipment issues as needed. •Build test fixtures as needed to support the troubleshooting/testing function. •Train Inspector LVL1. •Personnel may also be required to support other departments and/or business functions as necessary. •Schedule flexibility to support critical deadlines may be required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: •Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure. •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. •Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with others. •Attention to detail a must. •Ability to use microscopes, multi-meters, calipers, Keyence measuring system and other mechanical measuring equipment when required. •Knowledge Microsoft Office suite (including Outlook) is required; ability to work in an electronic environment using 2 computer screens a must. •IPC 610 and IPC 620 certification required. •Working knowledge of ANSI Z1.4 sample tables. •Prior experience in ISO9100 and/or AS9100 certified facility a plus. •Ability to create AS9102 First Article Inspection required. •Previous TipQA software knowledge preferred. •Knowledgeable of electronics design and manufacturing a plus •Ability to create an AS9102 First Article Inspection as required. •J-STD soldering preferred. •Team focused with ability to participate in cross functional teams.
