Our mission is to provide quality, in-home service that will allow seniors to live comfortably and independently in the familiarity of their own home.About the PositionThe Medical Billing Manager works in a fast-paced environment, ensuring billing and claims are accurate, timely, and meet the requirements of MCOs and the IDoA. The Billing Manager needs to be an expert on all areas of Billing from client referrals and intake to resolving rejected claims. This position is responsible for the training and work of a team of Billing Associates and works closely with the Controller. The Medical Billing Manager reports to the Chief Compliance Officer.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain and monitor all billing proceduresFollow up on all receivable balancesMonitor write-offs with the objective of minimizing these lossesReconcile claimsaccounts to complete resolutionPrepare monthly billing reports for DirectorAccountantCoordinate with Accounting on accounts receivable.Monitor assigned accounts to ensure maximization of collection dollarsEnsure client information is correct for insurance networksMaintain contact with all MCO and IDOA representativesSupervise all billing staff to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of claimsActively pursue all non-payments identifying the cause and providing a resolutionProcess monthly billing for IDoA through IDoA web portal (eCCPIS)Processes monthly billing for managed care organizations through insurance company or other billing web portalsPayment posting from both insurance and patientServe as liaison between IDoA, insurance companies and AUAF regarding any billing issuesInsurance eligibility and benefit verificationDelegate responsibilities to employees while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural valuesActively participates in team initiatives and in team status meetingsUse and train employees to use IDoA and MCO web portals (PSS, TTP, and MCO specific sites)Client agreements, authorizations, & verifying eligibilityResolve internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involvedUnderstands and actively promotes all AUAF and IDoA regulations and standardsFollow all IDoA and AUAF policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of healthcare-related experience in billing and collectionsCertified Coding Specialist (CCS) from accredited program recommendedKnowledge with CMS 1500 Billing Forms, electronic billing, EOBs, claimsExperience working with all types of insurance- Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.Ability to read and understand the information provided on EOB's, remittance advices, and other insurance correspondenceKnowledge of ICD-10 billingAbility to work in a group and independently with little supervisionStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, OutlookHighly organized, detail-oriented individual who has the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated understating of the medical billing industryAuthorized to work in the United StatesPass state required background checksPreferredCollege degreeSpeaks a second languageTrainingComplete IDoA required Homecare Supervisor Training (HOST) within 90 days of employmentComplete 24 hours of in-service training on aging related subjects within each calendar yearComplete additional training as assigned by AUAF managementRequired SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and data entryExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent customer serviceSuperior organization, time management, and attention to detailManage large amounts of dataExplain and resolve detailed issues with multiple variablesMeet strict deadlines under pressureExceptional math skillsAUAF is an equal-opportunity employer.
