Job Description

Who You Are: As our Chargemaster Analyst at Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you will play a crucial role in designing, maintaining, and updating our charge master. This is a fully benefitted salaried hybrid position, Monday - Friday (8:00am-4:30pm). What You'll Do: •Collaborate with department directors and staff to accurately reflect departmental charging activities in the charge master. •Work closely with finance, patient billing, and department directors to recommend standardized pricing. •Stay up-to-date with legal and regulatory changes affecting the charge master, ensuring compliance with coding and billing laws. •Partner with managed care contracting function to incorporate third-party payer billing requirements. •Educate ancillary and clinical departments on regulatory guidance for coding, charging, and billing procedures. •Ensure accurate reflection of new service areas and service lines in the charge master. •Collaborate with various departments to minimize lost revenue and improve charge documentation and capture. •Develop and communicate processes for accurate recording of charges at both patient account and general ledger levels. •Ensure accuracy of system interfaces related to patient charging. •Develop procedures for accurate classification of revenue by payer. •Assist with annual pricing structure changes and implement new pricing structures. •Address corporate compliance issues related to the charge master. •Maximize the potential of the hospital's billing system through collaboration with patient accounts and information systems. •Work closely with Patient Accounting supervisor to ensure proper reimbursement for new charge requests. •Create and maintain policies and procedures for the entire charge master creation process. •Utilize CDM software products to validate departmental CDMs and identify missing CDMs. •Regularly review the charge master with department directors for updates and revisions. •Evaluate managed care contracts and prepare computations of third-party contractual allowances and settlements. •Prepare reports and provide assistance with projects and programs. •Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Qualifications What You'll Bring: •Three years' experience of Chargemaster with Bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience in hospital setting. •Previous healthcare experience and familiarity with clinical/coding processes preferred. •Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Windows.
