General DescriptionSeeking an energetic, personable, and dependable individual to join a dynamic team responsible for the management and operations of a large government campus in Chantilly, VA. The Critical Facilities Manager works closely with the property management team and has primary responsibility for oversight of building mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) system operations and maintenance, as well as management of technical projects including system enhancements and infrastructure upgrades. The ideal candidate will be a mechanical or electrical engineer with strong communication skills and experience in mission critical environments. Prerequisites• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related discipline is preferred but equivalent work experience will be considered.• Minimum of 3 years' experience managing electricalmechanical operations & maintenance andor managing technical projects, ideally in a mission critical environment.• Proficient in reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and One-Line drawings.• Experienced in developing scopes of work, cost estimating and analyzing proposals.• Must be detail oriented, organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess or be willing to seek and obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.Key Responsibilities• Oversee operations & maintenance contracts including engineering services, UPS systems, switchgear, emergency generators, fire alarm system, building management systems, power management systems, chiller plant and elevators.• Manage assigned projects from inception through completion to include scope development, procurementoversight of design and construction services, permitting, coordination with vendors and tenants, and project closeout.• Implement an effective QAQC program to ensure that all work is performed in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with contract requirements and best practices for mission critical facilities.• Work closely with the property managers, building engineers, and Government representatives on long range planning and coordination for major maintenance activities.• Manage and reviewupdate as needed Local Operating Procedures (LOPs) and Method of Procedures (MOPs) for various operating scenarios, planned maintenance, system testing and special projects.• Work closely with the O&M engineering contractor to ensure that a robust on-going training program is in place for engineering personnel.• Work closely with the development team on new construction projects and assist with the coordination of all construction activities affecting operating buildings.• Assist the property managers with technical issues, projects, and budgets.Peterson CompaniesAs one of the region's largest privately-owned real estate developers, Peterson Companies has been consistently delivering some of the area's most exciting destinations for more than 50 years.
