Job Description

Location: 1550 S. Indiana Ave. Chicago, IL 60605 (South Loop Neighborhood) Department: Accounting Reports to: Corporate Controller Job Type: Full-Time Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Entry-Level Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will primarily focus on providing support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment. Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements. Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, respond to inquiries, and resolve discrepancies. Documentation and Filing: Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and other relevant documents. Team Support: Collaborate with and support other members of the accounting team as needed. Assist in corporate month-end closing process. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all tasks. Reporting: Assist in the preparation of various reports and analyses as required. State Licensing: Assist in the management and renewal of state licenses and permits as required. Expense Reporting: Utilize expense software to process and track employee expense reports. Other: Assist accounting team as needed on various tasks. Qualifications: Education: Associate's degree or higher in accounting or related field preferred. Experience: Previous experience in accounting or a related field is a plus but not required. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Familiarity with accounting software and expense management tools. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
