TOWN OF MILFORD DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS IMMEDIATE OPENINGS FOR Truck Driver / Laborer Positions (2) Do you enjoy working outside, appreciate a diverse work day and want to make a difference in your community? Milford Department of Public Works is seeking a few qualified individuals to fill the positions of Truck Driver / Laborer (Grade 13) within our Public Works Department. This is an awesome opportunity to enter the municipal sector. Duties will include, but are not limited to: maintaining a safe workplace, the operation of construction equipment, snow and ice removal, landscaping/construction, vehicle/ground building maintenance, paving, storm water/drainage and other duties as assigned. Candidate must be able to understand and follow oral and written directives. Excellent benefits to include: 2 weeks vacation, 3 personal days, 12 holidays, 8 sick days (pro-rated year one). Two health insurance plans (one 85/15 split and one paid at 100%), Dental Insurance (employee low paid at 100%), Employer paid Short-term Disability and Life Insurance and participation in the NH Retirement System. A successful applicant must be at least 18 years of age, have a NH Class B CDL ( REQUIRED) - Class A CDL is preferred, have a High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience within the area of winter/summer municipal road maintenance; OR possess any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the required knowledge, skill and ability. Pay is competitive and DOE. The physical demands are strenuous and work environment generally performed outdoors in heat, cold, and inclement weather.
