JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS Job Summary: To assess, plan, implement the nursing care to meet the patients' needs, by following the appropriate policy and procedures of the assigned department. Coordinate patient care according to staffing and patient safety guidelines. The manager assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for nursing care in the areas of responsibility. Position supervises the Behavioral Health, and Emergency Psychiatric Services, and Partial Hospitalization Program staff. The position requires knowledge and skill of professional nursing theory and practice, principles of effective teaching, learning and mentoring, fiscal management, and effective interpersonal relationships and communication. The manager assumes responsibility for care of patients as they move through the areas of responsibility. Provides leadership and support to the unit and office staff, using creative leadership to ensure best outcomes in high quality, compassionate patient, and family care. The manager works with medical staff and other health care professionals collaboratively. The manager ensures development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the organization's mission, vision and values and strategic objectives. Education: Position requires at least an associate degree (A.A.) or diploma program in Nursing. Registration/Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse Certification; State Licensure Experience: Position requires 3-5 years of Psychiatric leadership experience. Other Requirements: Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. CPR required within 30 days of hire.
