Job title: Senior Accountant Location: Pratt Industries, USA Conyers, GA Department: Accounting Reports to: Controller Job Summary The Senior Accountant will create timely and accurate reporting for the facility in Conyers, GA through both routine and ad hoc reporting requests. This position is a training position for the Assistant Controller and/or Controller. Main focuses will be inventory management and review, customer rebates, facilitator of special ad hoc projects as needed, ad hoc presentations as needed. Functions also include weekly estimates, month end closing, participation in profit improvement teams (PIP) and abilities to back-up functions including: Controller, purchasing in parts room, customer invoicing (all facilities), daily reporting. Essential Functions Become familiar with the Process Pratt Corrugated Logistics (CL) distribution accounts payable function Become familiar with logging, tracking, collecting and reporting CL vendor complaints Weekly estimates for distribution costs, customer rebates expense, broker commissions expense Complete month end closing for: FG aged inventories, FG & WIP inventory change, distribution costs, customer rebates expense, broker commissions expense and Journal entries as needed Includes account reconciliations FG Aged inventory management and reporting Schedule, complete, track and improve cycle counts of FG Back-up purchasing function of Purchasing Coordinator, the Daily DC report, Daily customer invoicing Create missing procedures as needed and keep Essential Function procedures current and accurate Continuously improve on all departmental KPI's. Work autonomous and have the ability to effectively multitask. Complies with safety regulations and corporate guidelines on business ethics. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion. Job Requirements and Qualifications Education: Bachelor Degree in accounting or equivalent experience. Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates): Knowledge Requirements: Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); Outlook email; reading and writing command of the English language. Preferred skills: Advanced Excel skills including: formulas, pivot tables and lite macros, SAP, MS Visio, ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. Experience: 5-10 years in a manufacturing environment. Other Information Ability and willingness to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment. Must be able to wear safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toed shoes on the job. Expect and be able to accommodate short notice for overtime and weekend work schedules.
