Job Family Group: Staff Department/Office: Payroll (Tenisha Knox) Time Type: Full time Compensation: Please note, starting salaries are based on factors including internal equity, relevant experience, and education. Exemption Status: United States of America (Non-Exempt) Job Description: Responsible for the accurate and timely payment of wages to employees in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations for the entire university. Generates and processes the university's payroll for biweekly and monthly pay cycles in a timely manner with minimal rate of error. Analyzes payroll audit reports prior to processing to identify and resolve payroll issues. Validates variances each pay cycle. Maintains Time & Attendance (T&A). Helps resolve time entry errors as required in time for payroll. Processes off-cycle pay. Reconciles payroll deductions against healthcare invoices and submits requests for payment in Workday. Processes and responds to child support, tax levies and other wage garnishments. Responsible for completing verification of employment for a variety of agencies. Assists in the distribution of W-2 forms. Assists with responding to questions, researching discrepancies and resolving pay issues. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies. Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines. Performs other duties as required. EDUCATION Required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: College-level courses in accounting. EXPERIENCE Required: Three years of computerized experience in payroll in a complex environment. Preferred: Workday ERP payroll experience. Payroll experience in higher education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Required: Ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy. Fundamental knowledge of payroll concepts, calculations, and compliance. Ability to focus on details and demonstrate accuracy. Maintain high confidentiality and meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism. Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations and provide outstanding customer service. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Preferred: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FCP) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
