Posting Identification Number 42109 - IPR#47582 Position Overview This position is responsible for coordinating and directing the district's in-house and consultant's planning and design negotiations pertaining to railroad relocation, grade separation, and grade crossing improvements associated with the district's highway related programs. Essential Functions Ensures the proper and expeditious coordination of all railroad-highway related activities. Ensures the execution of Railroad Agreements in full compliance with Railroad Standards and Policies, Illinois Commerce Commission regulations, and state and federal policies and in accordance with the district's construction schedule. Ensures the proper coordination and implementation of the Annual Highway-Rail Signal and Surface Safety Programs with the department's central office and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and overall design engineering of railroad plans. Ensures that Illinois Commerce Commission orders are issued in proper form and in accordance with the district's construction schedule and provides expert testimony to the Illinois Commerce Commission on highway-railroad work. Ensures subordinate staff performance duties are in accordance with the departmental safety code. Ensures that Railroad Force Account work bills and audits are processed for orderly and timely payments. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois. Four years of experience in civil engineering. Preferred Qualifications Experience in highway design and/or construction in the state of Illinois. Experience working with railroad companies. Conditions of Employment Valid driver's license.
