The Intern, Network Strategy will participate in diverse and interesting projects that combine operations research, optimization, and simulation. Provide structured and creative analysis to identify distribution network improvement opportunities and to support our future growth strategies. Accomplishes team objectives by actively engaging with other functions in the business to validate modelling scenarios is representative of the real-world operations. Become a proficient user of the Llamasoft supply chain software and Power BI for scenario modelling. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Participate in the development of scenario modelling representing either the current network or potential scenarios. Ensure data and assumptions used as part of modelling techniques are suitable and vetted by business leads. Responsible for evaluation of model outputs including physical flows, operational metrics, and financial outcomes. Prepare internal and client presentations of modelling outputs as part of future strategy communication. Other projects or duties as assigned. Preferred Skills and Experience: Bachelors' degree in business analytics, operations research, industrial engineering, supply chain management, mathematics, or actuary science Knowledge of distribution operations, supply chain planning and design including facilities, product flows, core processes and performance metrics. Comfortable with data analysis including a high proficiency in Excel. Understanding of simulation and the differences between optimization and simulation. Analytical and conceptual thinking with the ability to creatively solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Consistent and solid verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience and success in the following with little to no supervision. Ability to translate operational activities into models and specifications. Prior experience in database querying and building (SQL, Alteryx, Visual Studio). Prior experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, OneClick). Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree with 0 to 1 plus years of general work experience Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
