Position Summary The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer independently performs engineering work related to planning, devising, or adapting methods to improve manufacturing production. Examines equipment, processes, operations, and assembly to determine time or quality revisions and suggests improvements. May be responsible for carrying out changes or monitoring operations standards. Evaluates vendor proposals for new equipment purchases. Serves as a subject matter expert in specific areas of expertise. May serve as project manager on projects which are large in scope. This position is located in Chicago and will eventually move near O'Hare Airport. Duties Has oversight of specific manufacturing areas and processes. Leads the design and fabrication of manufacturing process equipment and methods. Leads the troubleshooting of systems and equipment. Requisitions components and supplies for engineering projects, interacting with vendors to obtain price and product information. Performs manufacturability studies on new product designs. Works closely with Design Engineering during the manufacturability studies. Conducts process validations and process risk management activities. Prepares straightforward plans, designs, calculations, and analyses per established codes, standards, drawings, or specifications. Create and maintain BOMs and routers following accepted standards and ensuring high accuracy. Performs engineering calculations to solve routine engineering problems. Participate as a member of the product development team; interact with interdisciplinary teams in various projects. Assists in the development of engineering drawings and specifications. Independence: Works without detailed supervision. Receives broad project and technical guidelines, working within defined standards, and specifications. Interprets the guidelines. Leadership Authority: May give work assignments and review the work of a small number of technicians or assistants. May serve as project manager and direct the work of multi-disciplined team. Required Experience This position requires an individual with: A master's degree in engineeringwith 5years of related engineering experience OR a bachelor's degree in engineering with 8years of related engineering experience. #LI-BN1 Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc. Employees (and their families) may enroll in our company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, health savings account, voluntary benefits, supplemental life/AD&D plans and the company's 401k plan.
