Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead with a safety-first mindset to ensure the well-being of warehouse associates. Supervise and develop warehouse team members through coaching and training. Facilitate open communication and ensure efficient workflow. Direct and oversee warehouse associates to ensure accurate orders and efficient loading of trucks. Participate in hiring and performance management of warehouse personnel. Monitor operational information and take corrective action as needed. Designate dock locations for inbound carriers and oversee product stocking. Maintain warehouse physical condition and safety, including equipment repairs. Work with management to identify inventory shrink sources and develop action plans. Regularly inspect facility for safety hazards and follow sanitation and FSQA requirements. Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools. Other duties as assigned by manager. Supervision: Direct union and/or non-union warehouse on-floor associates (Loaders, Selectors, Receivers, Forklift drivers, etc.) Relationships: Internal: Warehouse leaders and coworkers; Internal customers across departments (e.g., Sales) Work Environment: The work takes place in normal warehouse environments as well as in cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may be as low as -5 degrees. Minimum Qualifications: Related Experience/Requirements: Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required. Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures. Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills. Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements. Ability to interpret financial and operational data. Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office). Travel: 10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Licenses/Certifications: HACCP certification a plus. PCQI certification a plus. Physical Qualifications: Must be able to perform various physical activities as described.
