GENERAL SUMMARY The purpose of this job is to process and perform testing on clinical and environmental samples according to established standards and protocols. Keeps laboratory equipment calibrated and in good working order, assists with supply ordering, including budgeting for and purchasing new equipment as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Tests clinical and environmental samples; adheres to universal precautions in handling infectious materials. Performs data entry, including patient information and test results. Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment Provides education and/or consultation regarding specimen collection and handling. Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies. Performs related work as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field 3 to 5 years of related work experience in a clinical laboratory setting Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Required Licenses or Certifications Medical Technology or Laboratory Scientist certification from the Association of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
