Job Title: Property Accountant Job Summary: Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records related to property management, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain financial statements for multiple properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely billing and collections. Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers. Analyze property financial performance and prepare variance reports for management. Assist with budget preparation and monitoring, providing insights on variances and financial forecasts. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial insights. Support the year-end audit process by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Stay updated on industry best practices and changes in regulations affecting property accounting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance. Proficiency in accounting software (Yardi) and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in property management. Preferred Skills: CPA designation or working towards certification is a plus. Experience with budgeting and forecasting in a property management context. Familiarity with commercial and residential property accounting practices.
