QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2-year college degree in business or related field required or 3-5 years grant writing experience, with demonstrated success for funding programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literate in MS Office Suite and Granting software Proven ability to research and connect to donors in support of TSA programs Ability to understand and convey program goals, vision, & values to align with grant applicability & requirements Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Firm understanding, respect of TSA philosophy and mission Ability to pass a criminal background check Ability to attend local meetings when necessary RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closing with area command needs and within The Salvation Amry Community Relations and Development policies and practices, assist in the implementations of a regional grant strategy resulting in increased funding Support Corps Officer(s), staff and volunteers involved in the grant process Assisting in providing general oversight to field department coordinators for compliance and maximization of grant funding for new and existing programs as needed Research new grants, as assigned, and prepare or review proposals for grants Assist in completing or review applications required to obtain corporate gifts (as needed) Create, maintain, & update a listing of grants & foundations for which the So. Nevada Command programs would be eligible Track due dates and renewal dates on all proposals and funding sources. Working closing with the Regional Development Director and Area Coordinating Officer, present proposals, and submission for approval (following SA policies) Create and maintain files containing the basic TSA information applicable for grant requests Following SA policies and practices, include all prospecting and submission into the CRM system Be familiar with program needs to best match available grants with new or existing programs Develop and maintain, city, county, state, and federal contacts to enhance awareness of governmental grant availability Develop and maintain a library of private and public funding sources including proposals for which we received grant money Develop, with the advice of the SNRDD and SNV Coordination Officers, a goal for grant writing income Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position of Grant Associate.
