We're seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer Lead to play a pivotal role in driving our engineering strategy and success. Location: Hybrid with on-site responsibilities in Groton, CT Position Overview: Technical lead for the Mechanical Engineering team. Shepard the team through the design process including concept proposals, hand calculations, CAD modeling, prototype build, and production release. Train junior engineers on the use of engineering tools such as CAD, revision management, and FEA. Hands on, in the details, setting the pace for the team and exemplifying solid designs. Work with a project manager to sequence engineering tasks, accepting some of them personally and assisting junior engineers to accomplish their assignments. Key Responsibilities and Required Skills: Proven track record of creating complex mechanical designs from concept to production. Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD - Or experience in similar program with willingness to become proficient in Inventor. PDM Experience - Working on a team managing revision control for engineering designs. Experience with multiple design methods such as sheet metal, welding, machining, and 3D printing. Assembly - Hands on ability work with technicians to build prototypes. Create documentation for building mechanical systems. Preferred Skills: Marine industry experience Work with unmanned systems Electrical troubleshooting / basic design / soldering Software programming System troubleshooting Ability to obtain a security clearance What we offer: Competitive salary, comprehensive total rewards package (medical, dental, vision, 401K with employer match), and other great benefits.
