DATTCO is currently hiring a full-time Safety Coordinator for our School Bus Safety Department in Cranston, RI. This position will support our contract with the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE). DATTCO is a third-generation, family-owned company that was established in 1924. What We Offer: Family-oriented culture and team environment Room for advancement - we promote from within Medical and dental insurance Life insurance 401k plan with company match Paid time off Paid holidays Flexible spending account Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for oversight of established School Bus Safety Department duties Ability to write narrative reports, event summaries, and activity reports Have excellent computer and interpersonal skills Ability to navigate several vehicle-based IT camera systems Coordinate and supervise activities of assigned safety trainers/driver coaches Completion of applicant on-boarding process, document completion, driver training, road evaluations, accident response/investigation and drug collection Assist drivers with understanding safety policies and compliance Ability to transition from differing tasks Ability to work independently Responsible for timely review, response, and reporting of accidents, safety related issues and recorded events Work collaboratively with all Operations and Safety staff to further overall safety and operational goals Reports directly to a District Safety Manager or School Bus Safety Director Position Requirements: Minimum two years as a school bus driver with previous two years accident free driving record Minimum one year as a School Bus Safety Trainer Strong audio/visual/electronics systems knowledge Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, management and coworkers Have and maintain a valid school bus driver's license and medical card Excellent problem-solving skills Acquire and retain safety related information for accurate dissemination Ability to conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status and all other protected classes.
