Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW About the Position Performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving food and beverages. May perform such duties as preparing hot foods and/or cold foods, assist in cleaning work areas, equipment and utensils. May assist in the set-up and service; and collection of garbage/trash; as appropriate to the area of operation. May serve food to students and/or perform cashiering duties, as appropriate. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education High School Diploma or GED Experience 6 months customer service experience Other Requirements Must posses or have the ability to possess a valid Arizona Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card by the time of hire. Must be able to possess a valid food handlers license Preferred Requirements 1 or more years working with POS system. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS Essential Functions: May assist with quantity food preparation Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food May assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met May assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies May assist with operation of kitchen equipment Sets up and breaks down serving lines and/or catering events (salad bar, hot food etc.) Counts money, makes change, completes related reports and operates cash register, as needed Manages inventory Works with catering company for food and milk ordering (only at specific locations) Oversee portion sizes (only at specific locations) May clean and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, utensils and equipment Attends to day-to-day problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies; detects and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students and families from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Basic math skills Other duties as assigned by school principal Detail oriented; capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get task done Ability to make an impact and inspire others to perform well Working Conditions Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, crouch, bend, walking up and down stairs/ramps, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
